A telegraph key is a switching device used primarily to send Morse code. Similar keys are used for all forms of manual telegraphy, such as in wire or electrical telegraph and wireless or radio telegraphy.
How to write?
- To hold the knob, put the forefinger and the middle finger at the 2/3 position on whole knob.
- And push it up lightly with a thumb from lower position.
- Then, do the adjustment of contact space and spring pressure.
- For contact space adjustment, use two postcards that containing thickness of 0.4mm.
- At first, set the contact space largely and insert the postcards. Then, adjust the contact space to that the postcards may just slip through.
- In Telegraph key, the value of contact space can be read directly with micrometer.
- Now you can write dot by pressing the knob for single time and for dash press the long time and so down.
- By pressing dot and dash 'es' continuously, the transmitter will send the message.
- the message what you write will be sent in the form of morse code.
- So, you need to decode it and read.
